Baptisms, Dedications and Affirmations

At Morning Star Church, our mission is to form fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ by meeting people right where they are and helping them take next steps on their spiritual journey. We are excited you have decided to explore baptism as a next step in your spiritual journey.

What We Believe About Baptism
• It is a sign of God’s love, grace and forgiveness
• It is a symbol of new life in Jesus Christ
• It is a public announcement of your faith in Jesus Christ
• It represents our death and resurrection through Jesus Christ
• It uses water to remind us of how God cleanses us from our sins
• It is a promise of relationship between God, you and the Church

Our baptism services are absolutely not to be missed! We get really super excited when someone makes a public declaration that they're going to follow hard after God, and we figure that kind of decision is worth throwing a party about. So, we do!

Persons of any age can be baptized. We baptize by sprinkling and immersion. A person receives the sacrament of baptism only once in his or her life. However, people who have already been baptized can choose to affirm their faith publicly through water (sprinkling or immersion).

REQUIREMENTS

1. Register online and attend a 1-hour baptism orientation class to help ensure you are ready and prepared for this incredible experience.

2. Fully complete and submit registration paperwork by the deadline to help us assist you in taking this next step.

3. Email or submit candidate photo(s) by deadline so we can show the church your beautiful face.
4. Parents - Be able and willing to profess/affirm your faith in Jesus Christ as your personal savior and covenant with God and the Church to raise your child in Christian faith and community.

5. Child and Adults – Be able and willing to profess/affirm faith in Jesus Christ as your personal savior and covenant with God and Church to live a Christian life in community.

If you’re ready to move forward and would like to become a candidate for our next baptism celebration, below are your next steps:

Enroll in and attend an Orientation class. Submit completed Baptism Registration Packet (PDF) and photo(s) by Aug. 4, 2013.

If you are unable to participate in August, our next baptism opportunity will be Oct. 26/27, 2013.
