Children's Ministry Volunteer Opportunities
Our Children’s Ministry seeks to build excitement in children to learn about and live like Jesus Christ and to team with families to bring children into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ensures that materials are prepared for weekend services.
Prep Person
- Gathers needed supplies for weekend services.
- Prepares needed materials for weekend services.
- Organizes and stores unused materials from weekend service.
Prop Person
- Gathers and prepares monthly themed props.
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, and Prayer Time) half hour prior to scheduled service time.
- Prepared to welcome kids warmly into the room fifteen minutes prior to service and help them integrate into preservice activities.
- Greets parents and answers any questions they might have.
Presents the Bible creatively to the kids.
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Comes prepared to present Large Group lesson. (Preparation may include weekly/monthly planning meetings and/or study time.)
The Media Team serves the K-3 and 4th and 5th grade areas by producing and/or presenting PowerPoint programs for weekend services.
Coordinator
- Schedules Media Presenters for weekend services.
- Troubleshoots media emergencies.
- Fills in as presenter if needed.
Producer
- Attends, as needed, Kid Connection Tuesday night meeting to assist with media needs for the weekend services.
- Develops PowerPoint presentations which include worship music slides and Large Group story slides.
- Loads PowerPoint presentation prior to weekend services.
Presenter
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Attends scheduled service to present PowerPoint.
- Assist with Check Out as parents arrive.
- Assists with bathroom breaks in the room.
Nurtures and cares for kids during scheduled service times.
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Read, sing, and play with kids.
- Check and change diapers.
- Comfort and hold kids.
- Clean and straighten toys.
- Help with snack.
- Communicates with parents as needed.
Coordinates Nursery activities during scheduled service times.
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Checks kids into rooms.
- Completes incident reports.
- Makes sure room is ready for kids to arrive.
- Ensures Safe Sanctuary policies are followed.
- Nurtures and cares about our kids.
- Helps kids grow in faith by sharing Bible stories.
- Cleans, disinfects, and straightens up toys following each service time.
- Ensures safety of kids.
- Communicates pertinent information with parents as needed.
Ensures that kids are properly registered and checked in to age appropriate rooms.
Registration Desk
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Warmly welcome new families to Kid Connection.
- Obtain necessary information needed for proper registration and print tags.
- Connect family with Registration Host.
- Inform parents of paging system.
Registration Host
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Enthusiastically receives new family from Registration Desk and guides them to age appropriate room.
- Interacts with new kids.
The Security Team is available to monitor the Children's Ministry halls and rooms to help ensure the safety of our kids during weekend services.
Hall Monitor
- Carefully observes the movement of people in the Children's Areas before, during, and after a scheduled service time.
- Ensures that the side doors and modular unit are secured fifteen minutes after service time begins.
- Unlocks side doors and modular unit fifteen minutes prior to service ending.
- Assists with emergencies in Children's halls.
The Service Manager is responsible for managing the same room during the same service each weekend.
- Prepares during the week by reading lesson plan.
- Reviews volunteer schedule.
- Greets scheduled Small Group leaders as they arrive.
- Sets room ratios with Registration Service Associate
- Holds area V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information and Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Assigns kids to appropriate Small Group during check-in
- Coordinates Large Group and Small Group Activities during service
- Assists with bathroom breaks as needed
- Troubleshoots during service
- Communicates with parents as needed during check out
- Oversees check out of kids
- Encourages their Small Group Volunteers during the week
- Cares for and encourages team members going through a crisis or special circumstance
Comes prepared to lead a Small Group of kids through lesson related activities designed to help kids evaluate what they've learned and how it applies to their lives.
- Attends V.I.P. Time (Vision, Information, Prayer Time) half hour prior to service.
- Prepared to greet kids 15 minutes prior to service and participates in preservice activities.
- Attends Large Group Time with your Small Group to provide guidance during Bible teaching time.
- Builds relationships and connects with kids and families to encourage and support spiritual growth.
- Prays for kids in their Small Group and desires for them to become Forever Friends of God.
Manages all aspects of Worship through music to ensure that needs are met for weekend ministry.
- Schedules weekend Worship Leaders
- Acquires new worship music
- Creates choreography for new worship music
- Holds practices for Worship Team when necessary
- Recruits and trains additional Worship Leaders & Helpers
- Cares for and encourages team members
