Support Ministries Volunteer Opportunities
Try It
Support Ministries include a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, including both administrative and creative options.
Bookkeepers
Volunteer bookkeepers serve for four hours on Monday mornings to help process the offering. Duties include sorting, counting, preparing the deposit, and some data entry.
Church Administration
MSC’s Administrative Boards provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure that all ministries and actions of the church are reaching toward the goal of developing fully devoted followers of Christ. These volunteer opportunities require MSC membership and nomination by the Lay Leadership Team: Administrative Board, Council on Ministries, Finance Team, Lay Leadership (Nominations), Staff Relations, and Trustees.
Communications Team
The Communications Team presents MSC’s news, culture, and mission through print and electronic media. Skilled volunteers can serve as graphic artists, copywriters, and proofreaders. We also welcome knowledgeable web designers.
Connection Team
The Connection Team invites and places people into meaningful MSC volunteer opportunities. Volunteers on this team help make sure that no potential volunteers “fall through the cracks” in two ways: by contacting MSC attendees to invite them to deeper participation through volunteering and by encouraging, supporting, and holding accountable ministry team leaders.
Database Team
Database Team members use organizational, computer, and/or typing skills to assist in the collection and management of information.
Facility Maintenance
The Facility Maintenance Team provides a safe, well-functioning, and attractive building in order to support our greater mission. Volunteers can participate on the landscape team, paint team, small maintenance team, building security, and safety/medical response team.
Information Technology
The Information Technology team provides technical assistance and training to all ministry areas requiring computer, audio, or video technologies. IT volunteers minimize costs and maximize efficiency and security of MSC’s computer systems. Volunteer positions include network administrators, software trainers, telephone administrators, computer/telephone wiring assistants, and so on.
Office Support
The office support team works directly with MSC’s Office Manager to help with administrative tasks in the church office, such as answering phones, making copies, stuffing bulletins, and so on.
