Covenant Groups Overview
Covenant Groups are designed to cultivate relational accountability that encourages people to become disciples that embody the presence, life, and teachings of Jesus.
Structure
- 3-5 men or women (meet with the same gender)
- Meet weekly or bi-weekly
- Asks each other the following questions:
- Where have you seen God at work recently?
- How is your soul doing?
- What are your successes and struggles?
- How might the Word of God and the Holy Spirit be speaking to you right now?
- Is there anything weighing on your conscience that you need to confess or anything you're keeping secret that you need to share?
- Groups will gradually build up to all 5 questions as they get to know each other and build trust, emphasizing slow and steady growth.
- Commit to praying for each other throughout the week
- No leader, all are equal participants with shared responsibility
Who is a Covenant Group for?
- People who are spiritually hungry - they want to grow deeper in their discipleship
and are willing to be vulnerable, authentic, and be held accountable - People who are spiritually maturing - they are mature enough to be committed,
practice confidentiality, and practice grace rather than judgment or shame
