Join us as we read the Bible together in 2025
Why are we doing this?
We have seen a desire for a better understanding of the Bible at Morning Star Church, and that’s something we are excited about! But we also get that the Bible can be overwhelming and confusing at times, especially when we try to read it on our own. But the Bible was actually meant to be read in community! So in 2025, we are reading the Bible as a church in a way that is chronological and more easily understood for our modern ears Our hope is that in December of 2025, you will not only have a better understanding of Scripture, but also love reading it!
What is The Bible Recap?
The Bible Recap follows a chronological Bible reading plan and offers a short, daily recap that highlights and summarizes that day’s Bible reading in a casual, easy to understand way.
Each day you’ll read the assigned scripture reading, then turn in The Bible Recap One Year Guide to that day’s summary. The summary highlights that day’s reading in a way that is quick, casual, and easy to understand. The “God Shot” helps us put the day’s reading into perspective and see how it applies to our lives and the world around us. Follow along wtih MSC Social Media to engage with other church members on discussion questions and to hear from staff members about what they are learning from the readings.

Is there anything for kids?
Yup! The Bible Recap Kids’ Devotional is intended for kids ages 6 and up who are learning to read. It has engaging activities, puzzles, and coloring pages that go along with the readings. The Bible Recap for Kids is intended for ages 8 and up for kids are reading to learn. It follows the same reading program, but has been adapted for younger readers. We also have these available in our Lobby.
What is the cost?
Morning Star Church is not making any profit from selling these books. They are being offered at cost, we simply want to help get them to you in the easiest way possible!

When you go to the payment form, you will see three options for payment - Pay What You Can, Pay the Cost of Materials, and Pay the Cost of Materials + extra to cover someone else. We firmly believe that finances should not keep anyone from reading the Bible. So if you are only able to pay a couple of bucks, that’s ok! Just pay a couple of bucks (really!). If you’re able to pay a little extra to cover the cost for those that aren’t able to pay the full amount, we invite you to consider doing so and being a blessing to others.
Do I have to have the book to participate?
Nope! You can actually download The Bible Recap Reading Plan for free in the YouVersion app. This does not include the Study Guide questions, but is a great place to start! To quickly find the reading plan, click the link bleow:
